Greetings Van Buren Public Schools Families!
My name is Jason Butka, instructor of Computer Science courses at Belleville High School (BHS)
I want to share some amazing news from our Computer Science Department regarding scholarships. I also wanted to make sure our community was aware and might also have the chance to take advantage of such opportunities! Our very own, Krishna Sharma has been awarded a $40,000.00 scholarship!
Please join us in the celebration of Krishna Sharma, our 12th grade recipient of Amazon Future Engineer's $40,000.00 scholarship! His hard work and dedication to Computer Science is commendable and this scholarship is well deserved.
This competitive scholarship is available for Computer Science students who plan to attend a post-secondary institution to further study Computer Science.
The Amazon Future Engineer is one of hundreds of scholarships available to students of Computer Science. There are those that target specific audiences (e.g. African American females) as well as a multitude that are open to any CS student wishes wants to apply.
If your student is possibly interested in a technology based career, they should be encouraged to join one of the following classes at BHS:
Computer Programming 1 & 2
AP Computer Science A
AP Computer Science Principles
Unreal Engine Game Design
If you have any questions or would like your student to join any of the CS courses at BHS, please contact their counselor via email.
Thank you,
Jason Butka
