Representatives from the Early College Alliance at Eastern Michigan University (EMU) will visit Belleville High School on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 6:30pm. This is a great opportunity to learn about their early college program!

Yesterday the Biology students in Mr. Mackie's class used microscopes to observe living specimens collected from the greenhouse and fish tanks in the school! Students observed rotifers, tardigrades, roundworms, insect larvae, mites, algae, and many Protists commonly found in pond water.

The Unified Tigers came out strong in their home opener yesterday, but unfortunately lost to Wayne by 1 point, with a final score of 41-42. Roderick Jones and Jackson Kovalak both had strong offensive showings, while Charlee Rochon was a key defensive player of the game. We hope you can come support the team when they play at Little Caesar's Arena on January 31st.

Random Acts of Theater! Join us for this entertaining event, featuring student-directed vignettes! Show times on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of this week!

Come support our Unified Basketball team on Friday, January 31st as they compete at Little Caesar’s Arena. A ticket gets you access to the Unified Showcase, a beanie, and a ticket to the Piston’s game. This is the day after exams, so there is no school for students! Go to pistons.com/bellevilleunified for tickets.

Students will be at lunch all week helping students to sign up for the Polar Plunge or make donations to see teachers jump. All funds raised will support Special Olympics and Unified Sports at BHS. The Polar Plunge will take place on February 18 in the high school parking lot.

Hello! Belleville High School is looking for people who would love to talk to our students about all types of careers/pathways. On April 23, 2025, we will be hosting our 3rd annual career day. This event has been overwhelmingly successful with the support of our community. Last year, we hosted 65 businesses in all career pathways. This year, due to partner feedback, we will try to limit duplicate careers. Please see the attached flyer, for more information, or use the QR code to sign up. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Paula Slingerland (pslinger@vanburenschools.net), assistant principal at BHS. We can't wait to hear from you!

Congratulations to BHS Teacher of the Month for December, Ms. Garland! This honor was voted on by BHS students, who are acknowledging just how awesome our Belleville New Tech BioLit Teacher and Ecology Club Advisor is!

Tomorrow is "Sweater Weather" day. Whether it's ugly, cozy, or festive, show off your holiday spirit as we take a break from school to refresh, rejuvenate, and celebrate. Go Tigers!

Ms. Cross and Ms. Rybicki brought their students to the library to sip cocoa and select books for independent reading! Students participated in a "book tasting" which is a fun way to check out books of different genres!
