Hi Savage Families, I just wanted to send a few reminders for the first day of school for everyone. For remote learners, if you have not heard from your teacher or have any questions, please call Savage and we will certainly help you. 734-699-5050. For in person learners just a reminder that our bell rings at 9 a.m. and all students are expected to have completed a health screener form before coming into school. You can find the form on the Savage homepage on the left hand side. This will need to be completed EVERYDAY. If this is not completed you will need to come up and complete the form. Unfortunately I cannot allow a student to remain in a class without one. Also, all students must wear a mask and I ask that you send more than one mask each day just in case. If they are eating breakfast, they will need to come in the front door and go to the cafeteria. The students will have multiple mask breaks throughout the day. For dismissal, the bell will ring at 3:59 p.m. We will have a staggered dismissal beginning with Kindergarten at 3:55 p.m. , 1st & 2nd at 3:57 p.m. and 3rd and 4th grade at 3:59 p.m. If you are picking up your child we ask that you go to the outside classroom door no earlier than 3:50 p.m. and please DO NOT knock on the classroom door. If you have more than one child, please go to the younger student first. If your child does need to leave early for an appointment, you will come to the front door and ring the bell. However, we will not release students from the office after 3:45 p.m., you will need to go to the outside classroom door. Thank you so much.

Kaiser School Pictures for Remote Learners
Families of Van Buren Public Schools, Please take a moment to complete the survey, found at bit.ly/vbpsparentsurvey, as it will ask you to provide feedback about your thoughts about what went well and what did not during the time that remote learning occurred. Although we are uncertain what school will look like in the fall, your responses will assist our district re-entry committee to develop plans for the fall. If you have more than one child, please complete this form for each child. There will an opportunity at the end of the survey to submit another one. Please submit your responses no later than June 12. Thank you!.

This is a message from Jeff Moore, Director of Instruction at Van Buren Public Schools. Today, I am sharing with you information about a new full-time schooling online option for Van Buren Public Schools students. Regardless of what school will look like next year, our district will be providing an option for students to participate in a full-time, online virtual school next year. The new Belleville Online School (B.O.S.) will be available for all students from kindergarten through the 12th grade. Families who choose to register their students in the program will have a virtual platform that will provide a teacher of record as well as a mentor. Additionally, students will be provided their own Chromebook for the duration of the time they are in the program. For more information, please visit: https://bit.ly/vbpsonlineschool. This information, including how to enroll, can also be found at the top of our district webpage at vanburenschools.net under “Online School Info”. Or please feel free to contact Dan Wright at dwright@vanburenschools.net or myself at jmoore@vanburenschools.net
