SES Calling all Girls Kindergarten - 5th Grade. See attached flyer for a Girl Scout informational meeting at Savage; Thursday, Sept 9th at 6:00 - outdoors near the blacktop/pic-nic table area.
I wanted to say thank to all of our families for making our first week back to school fantastic. I have just a couple of reminders, please DO NOT park in the drop off lane, traffic will then back up out onto Savage road. The drop off lane also means that the driver should NOT be getting out of the car; this is for your safety and to keep traffic moving. Also, DO NOT drop students off in the 'Thru Traffic' lane, I would prefer that students are not walking between cars unattended.
If you happen to be running late and arrive after the tardy bell, please have your student enter through the front doors. Just have them come up and ring the bell and we will make sure they get to their classroom. My staff that I have posted all around the building do come in when the tardy bell rings.
You may have received a green Food Service form in your child's backpack. There is not need to fill it out if you have completed the form online.
Please make sure that you let your classroom teacher know if your student is not eating their lunch so they can inform the lunch room supervisors to help encourage them to eat.
As always, thank you so much for a wonderful week and please call or email me if you have any concerns. Have safe and wonderful Labor Day weekend.
SES: I am looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow and I just wanted to welcome everyone back. Be sure to get a good nights sleep and we will see everyone in the morning at 9:01 a.m. There will many staff members outside if anyone needs assistance finding their classroom so be sure to ask someone if you need help. Tomorrow is a half day of school with dismissal at 12:31 p.m. and regular dismissal time will be 4:04 p.m. There will not be any school for Kindergarten students tomorrow. If your child is riding a bus, please be patient the first week since our drivers are taking extra special care in getting to know your student and getting them home safely. If you have any questions feel free to contact the office at 734-699-5050. See you in the morning.

Savage Elementary is very excited to inform our families that some of the student art work from our Spring Art & Music Performance was selected by the Belleville Council for the Arts to be turned into banners for main street in Belleville. So, if your child had a piece of art in the show they may have a banner down on main street. So perhaps on your way to Open House this Thursday at 6 p.m., take a quick drive down main street to see our amazing Savage art on display for the entire community to enjoy.

Second, this is a reminder that you still need to wear a mask when coming on school grounds. If you have someone picking up your child, please remind them that they also need to wear a mask. I know it is getting warm and things are improving but it is our district policy and we want to keep our students safe and healthy.
