This is a message for our remote K-12 families only... If your student is in need of a Chromebook for his or her remote classes, please call your home school to arrange a pick-up date and time.

For In-person families: All students have free breakfast and lunch through the end of December 2020. Please be sure to still fill out a free and reduced form and send it to school with your child. Eligibility directly affects school funding. Thank you.

Good afternoon, This is a message for VBPS families who have chosen our remote option for the school year. The VBPS orientation site has been posted at the top of our district and school websites and is labeled “REMOTE SUPPORT” inside of an orange rectangle. We are still hiring for a permanent building sub and also a lunch monitor. Please call 734-697-8002 to apply. New hires must sign up through edustaff.org.

In person families: please note that our times have changed this school year. The building will open at 9am to students only, with a dismissal time of 3:59pm. For the safety of our staff and students, parents/ guardians will not be allowed to enter the building for any reason. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Edgemont Families, The Chromebook pick up date for REMOTE LEARNERS at Edgemont will be Tuesday, September 8th, 2020 in the Edgemont Bus Loop from 4:30pm to 7pm. This will be a drive through pick up. There will also be basic supplies available to our remote learners if needed. We are located at 125 S. First day of school for all students is Monday, September 14th, 2020.

After today's parcel pickup we still have over 100 bags to be picked up. We are going to try this one more time. Tuesday, the 16th from 5-6:30 pm will be the last change to pick up your student's personal items, report cards, pictures and yearbooks before we come back in September. Please use the drop-off/ pick-up loop, put your child name in the window and we will bring their things to you!

Package Pickup On Wednesday, June 10th from 8-10 am, Thursday, June 11th from 5-6:30 pm and Friday, June 12th for 1-3 pm we will be handing out students' report cards, pictures, yearbooks, newsletter and personal items that teachers packed from their desks and cubbies. Please make a sign in your back window with the student's name and teacher's name to help us make the process easier. We will also collect library books and the tech department will have a station to collect Chromebooks. We will have a drive through parade on Monday, June 15th from noon to 1 pm. Teachers will have squirt guns, water balloons and signs along the dropoff/pickup lane so that you can drive through and share in our end of the year tradition.

Families of Van Buren Public Schools, Please take a moment to complete the survey, found at bit.ly/vbpsparentsurvey, as it will ask you to provide feedback about your thoughts about what went well and what did not during the time that remote learning occurred. Although we are uncertain what school will look like in the fall, your responses will assist our district re-entry committee to develop plans for the fall. If you have more than one child, please complete this form for each child. There will an opportunity at the end of the survey to submit another one. Today, I am sharing with you information about a new full-time schooling online option for Van Buren Public Schools students. Regardless of what school will look like next year, our district will be providing an option for students to participate in a full-time, online virtual school next year. The new Belleville Online School (B.O.S.) will be available for all students from kindergarten through the 12th grade. Families who choose to register their students in the program will have a virtual platform that will provide a teacher of record as well as a mentor. Additionally, students will be provided their own Chromebook for the duration of the time they are in the program. For more information, please visit: https://bit.ly/vbpsonlineschool.
