Hello Edgemont Families,

I'm Ms. Laura Maher, proud to serve as the principal of Edgemont Elementary for my fourth year. Our students, staff, parents, and beautiful community is what makes me love what I do every single day!

Before joining Edgemont, I spent eight years as assistant principal at McBride Middle School. Over the past twenty years in education, I’ve held diverse roles across four districts, including instructional coach, interventionist, and teacher for grades 3 through 8. These experiences have reinforced my commitment to a student-centered approach, believing every child can learn and grow, no matter their unique needs.

Building strong relationships is at the heart of my educational philosophy. I believe in creating an environment where students feel safe, valued, seen and heard. By treating everyone with kindness and fostering a culture of collaboration and inclusivity, I am confident that our students will thrive both academically and socially.
