Hello Edgemont Families,

I am Ms. Laura Maher, and I am excited to introduce myself as the principal of Edgemont Elementary. This marks my third year in this wonderful school, and I am grateful for the warm welcome I have received from staff, students, and families alike.

Before joining Edgemont, I served as the assistant principal at McBride Middle School for eight years. During the last twenty years I have worked in education, I have held various roles across four different districts. I have worked as an instructional coach, interventionist, and have taught grades 3 through 8. These experiences have shaped my belief in a student-centered approach to education, where I firmly believe that every child is capable of learning and growing, regardless of their diverse needs.

Building strong relationships is at the heart of my educational philosophy. I believe in creating an environment where students feel safe, valued, and eager to learn. By treating everyone with kindness and fostering a culture of collaboration and inclusivity, I am confident that our students will thrive both academically and socially.
