Dear Rawsonville Families,
Two of our students found some bullets on the way to school this morning, although it was not on school property, the students made a mature and brave decision to notify an adult and turn them over to the principal. The sheriff's office was notified to remove the bullets from school property and then they did a follow up search back to the location where they were discovered and found several more. We are very proud and happy to announce that the the students chose to do the right thing. This incident was resolved quickly and did not interrupt our students learning.

All, please accept my personal apology regarding the fact that some of you did not receive a social media message, Apptegy Message nor a Robo-Call, I communicated via all 3 and sent a follow up communication to parents informing them that the threat was lifted and students were safe. There was a thorough investigation and the sheriffs have given us an all clear. Please know that our number one goal was to keep students safe. I followed protocol and notified the superintendent and police immediately and next put the building in lock down. I then notified parents via The Apptegy Thrillshare App which sends mass communication via several social media outlets as well as a Robo-Call once the lock down ended. Please contact the main office tomorrow to update your contact number and get the necessary steps in place to receive our social media posts. I understand that today was very frightening but please rest assured that we will always take every measure in keeping all kids safe. I welcome any questions, comments or concerns. Thank you for your patience in the handling of this matter.

Good Afternoon Rawsonvile School was on lock down today due to a verbal threat towards a student and our school. The police and superintendent were both notified of the situation and we were put on immediate lock down. Although it was a delay with our dismissal, our first concern was student safety. All students have been released safely and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Thank You, Mrs. Bryant, Principal

Rawsonville is under lock down at this time due to a verbal threat from a parent. As soon as the police arrive and give us clearance we will release our students. Please be patient through this process, all students are safe.
