#TeamOwen social worker, Mr. Roberson, & counselor, Mrs. Foulks, are working with students to help them understand the Zones of Regulation. These Zones help students recognize their own feelings while giving them tools to work with them.

In #TeamOwen’s art class, Mrs. Falk’s students use #chromebooks to find an image to become a model they draw. Using YouTube, they use drawing videos to develop sketch techniques. Finally, they use the color wheel to paint their images.

We know that when kids are reading, they are preparing to be lifelong learners. At #TeamOwen students are given a wide variety of reading material. In Ms. Hiuser’s ELA class, students are reading “Esperanza Rising.”
Sitters to Ease Moms Jitters! Owen Intermediate School is offering childcare this Friday from 5:30-8:30. $10 for first child and $5 after that...includes pizza and drink. Crafts, movie, gym, games and more. All proceeds help to support our student programming. Email jsalhaney@vanburenschools.net if you want to sign up. Permission slips will come home tomorrow.
