Good afternoon, Van Buren Public Schools will be holding the Fall 2021 Parent-Teacher Conferences remotely. BHS and McBride Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held next Wednesday, October 13 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, October 14 from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Conferences will be done through a website called Meet the Teacher. To have a conference with a teacher, you need only to sign up for a slot for your child using www.vbps.meetheteacher.com. The link to this site will also be posted on the BHS/McBride website in the bulletin board section. Once you sign in, you will see each of the teachers for each of your students, as well as the ability to manually schedule conference times for your student. On the day of the conferences, you need only sign back into that same website and begin the conferences that will be ready for you. If you need assistance, we have built resources for you into the VBPS Help Center website https://sites.google.com/vanburenschools.net/vbpshelpcenter/meet-the-teacher. For the remainder of the 2021 Varsity football season, High School students will be required to show their Student Identification in order to purchase a ticket for admission into the game. In addition, any student not of High School age will be required to have an accompanying paying adult with them in order to purchase a ticket and attend the game. Thank you!

Free Covid -19 Vaccination Clinic for Students Good afternoon parents and guardians, Vaccinations throughout childhood are essential because it helps provide immunity before children are exposed to potentially life-threatening diseases. Vaccines are tested to ensure that they are safe and effective for children to receive at the recommended ages. Last year we hosted a vaccine clinic at Belleville High School for students ages 12 and up. This year we will be hosting two separate sessions. One at Belleville High School and the other at McBride Middle School. We will once again be working with the Wayne County Health Department to host a free COVID-19 vaccination clinic. Students will need a consent form signed by a parent or guardian in order to receive the vaccine. Please complete the registration form and send it into school if you are interested in having your child vaccinated against COVID-19. Students may arrive anytime between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm to get their Chromebooks, try their lockers and meet their teachers. If you can not attend tonight, we will be distributing Chromebooks to students again during the first week of school. McBride Football Practice Schedule Week 1: 3:30-5:00pm August 30-Sept 2. Students must have a current physical dated after April 15 2021 to participate. Students will need just shorts shirt and cleats for first week of practice. Other paper work and parent meeting will be addressed during the first week of practice.

McBride Girls Volleyball Tryouts August 30th, September 1st & 2nd From: 3:30pm - 5:00pm Please be sure your child has a Sports Physical (Dated after April 18, 2021) on file in the office before tryouts. Also you will need to dress in t-shirts, shorts and tennis shoes. BHS is holding a Volleyball Clinic Fundraiser August 28th see flyer below for details. Good Luck to all Go Tigers!!

We want you! ….to check out Volleyball! The HS volleyball teams are running a volleyball clinic from 9am - 12pm on August 28th for all kids grades 3-8. The cost is $25 and includes the clinic and a shirt. We would like participants to preregister, but will also take walk-ins the day of the clinic. We are using this both as a fundraiser and as an opportunity to get more kids excited about volleyball to help grow the district's programs. We are asking you to please share the flyer and registration site with your families -- via social media, email, with your back to school information, etc. I have attached the flyer with registration info.
