National Junior Honor Society

National Junior Honor Society is a service organization for eighth grade students.
To be eligible, seventh grade students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
the first three marking periods with an overall average of 3.3.
Students are then referred to an selection committee and, if selected, are then offered membership.

Paper Recycling

Thanks to the Abitibi Recycling Company we have a new green and yellow paper
recycling bin on the east side of the building. Students in one of our Enrichment classes
have taken on the responsibility of collecting the waste paper from most rooms in the building
and placing it in this bin every week. By doing this, these students are preventing tons of paper
from entering our landfills every year!

We wanted to let you know that this recycling bin is available for the community’s use as well.
In fact, if we place enough material in the bin every month, we can make money for the school!
So, if you have any paper products lying around your house—

including magazines (staples are not a problem), catalogs, newspapers, construction paper, notebook paper, office paper, junk mail, etc.—
that you’d like to get rid of, please feel free to take advantage of our new recycling bin!
There are holes on the side of the bin that make it very easy to throw your things inside.
For more information, please contact our Principal.

Student Council

Student council members are elected by their peers. Officers are chosen in the spring for the following school year.
Individual classrooms choose representatives in the fall of the year.
The student council sponsors various activities throughout the year
such as activity nights in addition to assisting with parent teacher conferences, and open house.
