Belleville Symphony Band

The Belleville Symphony Band is a highly skilled group of instrumentalists selected by audition from over three hundred students in the high school band program. This band has a rich tradition of outstanding performance. Guest clinicians and adjudicators have included Frank Battisti, Keith Brion, Dennis Glocke, Donald Hunsberger, Craig Kirchhoff, Gary Lewis, Max Plank, H. Robert Reynolds, Dennis Smith, Gary Sousa, Frank Ticheli, and John Whitwell.

      The Belleville Symphony Band was one of just eighteen nationwide that were invited to perform at the Bands of America National Concert Band Invitational in Indianapolis in March 2002. This was our second invitation, based upon a rigorous evaluation of taped performances, in three years. We returned to Indianapolis for The Music for All National Festival and made a second appearance at the Michigan Music Conference in 2009.

      We have performed twice in the National Concert Band Invitational at Carnegie Hall and returned for the First New York Wind Band Festival there in April 2003. In April 2005, we returned to Washington, DC, for the Heritage Music Festival. We returned to Boston for the first time in 14 years for the Boston Festival in March 2007.
