    Whether your child is a freshman or a senior, marching band member or symphony band student, you are a Band Booster, and we need your help throughout the coming year. BHS Band Boosters are parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins or band students. We are also former students of the band program, parents of former students, previous administrators at BHS, music lovers, and people just wanting to make a difference.

    The BHS Band Booster Board is made up of volunteers who not only raise their families but also hold full-time jobs, We know how difficult it is to volunteer the little free time that we have. We have chosen to make our children and our Band Program priorities in our busy lives, as we understand the lifelong value that music education brings. Please come out and join us—we will give you an opportunity to make a difference!

    Some of the activities that we support:

• We are involved before the school year begins with a trip to Band Camp with our Marching Tigers.
• We raise funds for the band program. We work concessions at University of Michigan football and basketball games (a large source of revenue).
• We sell 50/50 raffle tickets at BHS football games and assist the band on the field in any way necessary.
• We provide assistance and refreshments for all music concerts.
• We provide assistance for the very successful band review.
• We are in charge of Marching Band and Symphony Band uniform distribution and upkeep.
• We assist in all ways with the bands’ Halloween Concert.
• We host a Jazz Band Spaghetti dinner for the community.

    Won’t you please plan on assisting us in our Band Booster endeavors? If each of the hundreds of band parents participated in at least three of our events, we would equally share the load. lt. Some of us so enjoy the camaraderie of regular booster events—both among ourselves and as opportunities to interact with a terrific bunch of kids—that we stay on after our own have graduated. Please join us and see how enjoyable it can be to do your part!
