2010-11 School Year Kindergarten Start Dates July, 2010
Dear Kindergarten Parents,
Even though we are just ending our school year, our kindergarten teachers are already preparing for a great start to your child’s educational journey for next school year. The first few days of school are often confusing and somewhat scary for children and parents alike. In order to facilitate a smooth transition into kindergarten, we are making some adjustments to the way our school year will begin.
The first day of school for students in grades 1-12 will be on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, however, our kindergarten students will not be starting on that day.
The schedule for our incoming kindergartners will be:
Tuesday, September 7 Round Up for kindergarten students and parents who enrolled after the May 4th Round-Up
Wednesday, September 8 One third of kindergarten students will attend (last names starting with A – G)
Thursday, September 9 Second group of kindergarten students will attend (last names starting with H – P)
Friday, September 10 Third group of kindergarten students will attend (last names starting with Q – Z)
Monday, September 13 All kindergarten students will attend
I know that this requires some flexibility from our families, but we believe that introducing children to school procedures in smaller groups affords us the opportunity to get to know our students better and increases the comfort level for our children and parents.
